Inspiring story of one man’s mission to help people walk again

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

The Seattle Times featured a wonderful article (Seattle doctor climbs mountains to raise funds for artificial limbs, 8/21/08) about Dr. Tom Boyer – a man inspired to climb the Seven Summits — the world’s highest peaks on seven continents — in an effort to raise funds for prosthetics.

In addition to being a long-time supporter of Prosthetics Outreach Foundation (the beneficiary of his fundraising), I found Dr. Boyer’s particular story incredibly ambitious and a genuine act of selflessness.

12th Annual Client Appreciation Picnic – Sunshine and Bouncy house!

Monday, August 4th, 2008

We had the luck of the Irish with us at our annual picnic!! The first morning rain in 23 days was not going to stop our yearly fun in the park! My clients, friends and family came out to have a party and we did. The massages kept everyone mellow, the tarot gave them food for thought, great Pabla Indian Cuisine gave everyone sustenance, henna tattoos added the artsy flair to a wonderful day. The kids went crazy with our little pinata and then even more fun was had in the excitement of our annual raffle!! A really great day was had by all.

CoolMom’s on TV

Monday, August 4th, 2008
My sister-in-law, Laura Elfline, and Abby Suplizio were interviewed by KING5 last week. They are the West Seattle chapter coordinators of this fantastic mom’s group that focuses on empowering moms to combat climate change on an individual/family level (check out CoolMom.org if you’re interested in what’s happening in your neighborhood). Anyhow, the interview was about their support of the Mayor Nickels’ Car Free Days initiative. Check out the video clip!
